ATAP, CSRO joins National Consumers League in Urging the Labor Department to Promulgate PBM Regulations
On August 26, the Alliance of Transparent and Affordable Prescriptions (ATAP) and the Coalition of State Rheumatology Organizations (CSRO) joined stakeholders as part of the National Consumers League in writing to the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) urging support for the department to swiftly promulgate robust regulations reforming the practices of pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs).
The letter emphasizes the need for DOL to regulate PBMs by: requiring meaningful transparency, prohibiting spread pricing, separating PBM compensation from the cost of medication, requiring PBMs to pass savings directly to patients, and removing medication barriers.
FSR is a member of ATAP and CSRO, with members holding Executive Committee and board positions on these coalitions.
