FSR Leads Effort to Reform Drug Pricing through Online Webinar

To help provide the same awareness and education for healthcare associations around the country, Dr. Levin took part in leading an online webinar that was hosted by ATAP, which reviewed drug pricing legislation in the states, federal regulatory/legislative actions, and how interested groups could get involved.

The Florida Society of Rheumatology has invested substantial resources into reforms for the drug pricing and supply chain access issues created by Pharmacy benefit Managers (PBMs) during this spring's legislative session.

Dr. Robert Levin, past FSR President and current President of the Alliance for Transparent & Affordable Prescriptions (ATAP), along with FSR leadership, increased awareness and education with Florida policymakers that will ultimately pave the way for future legislation that increases transparency and affordability for Florida patients. While the bill did not move forward this year, there was great momentum for the issue, which FSR will carry into fall and 2021 legislative session.

As current member of ATAP, FSR is encouraging interested associations to review the webinar online and reach out to FSR staff about possible membership (Kevin.Daley@Naylor.com).
